English Level Test
Fifteen questions, three minutes, no registration. At the end, you'll see what level Parleo will start speaking with you at.
Take the test
Fifteen fill-in-the-blank questions. For each, choose one option out of four. We don't show correct answers during the test: it's an assessment.
How the level is calculated
Questions are taken from the Parleo course: five for each of the three levels. In each question, one word is missing, and you need to choose it from four options.
- 1A level is considered achieved if you answer at least four out of five questions correctly.
- 2The test stops when you stop scoring: first simple phrases, then medium, then complex.
- 3We measure exactly what we use ourselves: at what level Parleo selects words and speech speed. The test does not provide an international scale.
What each level means
Beginner
Parleo speaks in four-to-eight-word phrases and translates each of its replies into Russian. Suitable if you learned English a long time ago and have forgotten almost everything.
Intermediate
Normal speech without simplifications, translation only comes upon request. Suitable for those who read and understand by ear, but hesitate and lose pace in live conversation.
Advanced
Fast speech, idioms, nuance analysis. Suitable if you speak fluently and want to keep your language sharp.
What to do with the result
The level is set in the app with one button and can be changed in the menu at any time. Then you speak aloud with Parleo: it hears your speech, responds with its voice, and corrects mistakes right in the conversation.

How long does the test take
Three minutes. Fifteen questions, in each you need to choose one word out of four.
Is registration required
No. The test opens immediately, the result is visible on this page.
Can I take it again
Yes, as many times as you want. The questions are new each time: they are randomly selected from the course.
Is this an official level test
No. This is our three-level scale, which Parleo uses to adapt speech in conversation. The test does not provide a certificate.
What happens after the test
You can set the obtained level in the app and start a conversation. Translation, dictionary, and course are free; a full plan is needed for voice responses.
